Hannover, Kingdom. A Wilhelms Medal Newly Listed swing hook closure(Wilhelmsmedaille). Instituted on 2 March 1837. Type III. (1846 1866 Issue). A circular silver medal, the obverse centre presents the head of King Wilhelm IV facing right, the reverse centre presents the inscription FR SECHSZEHN JAHRIGE TREUE DIENSTE (FOR SIXTEEN YEARS OF LOYAL SERVICE), measuring 25. 75 mm in diameter, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in very fine condition.
