In its day, The Windsor Hotel was the finest establishment in St Paul, Minnesota. According to Alice Monfort Dunn, the owner's daughter, who lived in the hotel with her aunt in the 1880s, political conventions were often held there, with Republicans staying in one wing of the hotel
