Painted Star Bajot Low Prayer Table From Rajasthan - 19th Century Margin Scheme 105 x 46 x 53This antique star shaped painted wood Indian bajot prayer table is an excellent and unusual example dating to the 19th century. It is from Rajasthan and would have been used for daily prayer. The shape of the table is that of a Rub el Hizb known as the Islamic Star formed by two overlapping squares. This is likely influenced by the Mughal period in India (1526 1761), however, it became widely used by many cultural groups in Rajasthan. Star bajots are
