Teak Takhat From Gujarat - 19thC Benches especially in busy cities suchTakhats were originally used as daybeds by the wealthy merchant classes in Rajasthan and Gujarat. Original tables like this are becoming increasingly difficult to find. This large Takhat is originally from Gujarat and is adorned with beautiful floral carvings, birds and an inscription. It also has lacquered beading around the outside and skilfully carved legs. It would make an impressive centrepiece for a living room, conservatory or summer house.
