I loved the beauty of the land and friendliness of the people. I came to understand the mystique of Texas, what John Steinbeck famously referred to as something more profound, something exceeding a mere "state of mind." Years later, as I first began designing playing cards, I dreamed that some day I'd introduce to the world a very
