Sibley Hall, University of Rochester virginia Taken in 1937 with aThis vintage photograph of Sibley Hall was captured in 1904, three decades after the building was constructed. The building was the gift of University of Rochester trustee Hiram Sibley, and was considered the first "fireproof" structure in Rochester. The staircases and beams were made of iron, and the building was constructed with an airspace between the outer limestone and inner brick walls. Sibley Hall served many purposes for the University before
