I have fused 24k gold to the surface of sterling silver and then oxidized certain areas for contrast

This necklace is entirely made by hand

with a textured striped design on the sterling silver backplate as well as a lovely contemporary geometric design on the fine silver backdrop to the translucent enamel

The contrast of the rich 24k gold color against the boldly oxidized portions of the design is lovely

Rich and luscious shades of red, brown, bronze and copper are gorgeous! I created this by starting with a piece of bare copper sheet metal. Cut into a square, texture was added by rolling it through my rolling mill with a texture plate.
