Star Apple ‘Tear Drop’ Fruit Trees & Edibles > Asian Fruit Trees Fast-growing climbers reach 4–6 mStar Apple Tear Drop (Chrysophyllum cainito), also known as Caimito or Milk Fruit, is a tropical evergreen from the Caribbean and Central America. It grows around 68 metres tall and 46 metres wide but can be kept to 34 metres with light pruning. The purple tear drop shaped fruit has sweet, milky white flesh with a star pattern inside. Plant in full sun in well drained soil and water regularly while establishing, then moderately once mature. Supplied
