The painting has been coated with a satin varnish to protect the pigments

which serves to give the viewer the suggestion of the wind blowing

The abstract nature of the ghostly wild roses and the depth of colour within the fallen leaves is offset by beautiful delicate butterflies which hover in the suns rays

I wanted to create an abstract work which used colour and directional line to portray to a viewer how it felt to look at this beautiful tranquil scene on a light filled summers day

In late September, looking out of the kitchen window I can see the twisted body of a briar bush with wild pink roses, the colour of candy, reaching upwards toward the light. I can see the farmers fields behind it. This became my inspiration for Hubba Bubba Candy Rose. I noticed a wonderful contrast between horizontal and vertical line and decided to apply this
