Early 19th Century Scottish Bible Box on Stand Georgian Untouched surface with plenty ofEarly 19th century Bible box on stand, c. 18201840, most likely Scottish or Northern English. A well proportioned example with a sloping lift lid, carved frieze and panelled sides, raised on a later but sympathetic stand. Originally used to store the family Bible and associated papers, it now works equally well as a compact side table or hall piece.
