Higonokami Silver Folding Knife holiday15 The French design house stressesThe simple and rugged construction made the Higonokami a ubiquitous and long lasting knife in Japan. At the peak of its popularity there were 50 manufacturers producing the knives. In 1961, after a political assassination led to a banning of blades, the popularity waned and now there are very few manufacturers still making them. The blades are made of white steel and set in a folded sheet of metal. As a friction folder, it has no locking mechanism.
