Ghost in the Golden Needles John Yates Early spring is one ofThis photograph of the elusive Algonquin wolf was taken on a trail in Algonquin Park. I had spent the day hiking without much luck encountering any wildlife. I sat down to snack on an apple and muster up the nerve to leave the park empty handed. For no particular reason, I looked to my left, and about 40 feet away was this beautiful wolf. It's the only wolf I've ever encountered in the wild and this is the only photo I managed to capture before it
